It’s baaaaaaaack!
For those who have been here a long time, you might remember a blink-and-you’ll-miss it release titled Haunt. Haunt was my first attempt at a paranormal/historical mash-up and it went….okay.
Not great. The only review it got was from someone who rated it low, namely because they didn’t like historical fiction. And they said that it was definitely not Ghostbusters meets Gone with the Wind.
Three Years Later: I say to myself, Self, we don’t have enough to do! Let’s revisit Haunt!
And I said, well sure! Fresh air and sleep are for the dead!
I attacked that novel like the time I was a vegetarian for eight weeks and then my mother-in-law made 7 Layer Taco Dip and The Hubs and I STOOD in the middle of the kitchen while they were gone, and ate it right from the dish and it had ground turkey and….oh well. I haven’t tried vegetarian since.
Anyway.
Good LORD were there a lot of sex scenes in that book. Holy. Crap. I feel like someone needed to dump a bucket of water of my head and said, “Calm yourself, child.”
A few long nights, lots of coffee, and a playlist of very loud music later, the new version of Haunt was born.
But…it’s not just Haunt: The redo.
It’s The Sin-Eater Chronicles: Book One. Haunt.
Y’all.
Not only is Haunt coming out on October 31st, because yeah, I’m That Girl, but the second book will only be a month or so behind it. I’m trying my first rapid release, where you can get the entire trilogy in three months. No waiting for years, while everything that holds still long enough distracts me (cough cough The Lazarus Society cough cough I’m looking at you). Three books. Three months.
ARE YOU EXCITED YET??!?!?
You can pre-order Haunt on Amazon by clicking here. This is actually the first time Haunt has been available on Amazon, so that’s pretty cool. Newsletter subscribers will be the first to know when Book Two is available, so it you’re not signed up yet, now’s the time to check it out! Click here!
About the Book
In 1859, eighteen-year-old Adelaide Randolph has a secret: she’s a member of The Secret Six: six women who hunt errant spirits in their hometown of Harpers Ferry, Virginia. They are the daughters of dead mothers—the last line of defense protecting the bustling town from the dead. Adelaide is focused. She’s determined.
And then she meets Thomas.
Thomas Cooper is an armory worker. He’s a scoundrel. He drinks too much, he’s vulgar and rough: and he wants her. It’s too easy to fall in love with him and, suddenly, Adelaide would rather have trysts with him than focus on slaying specters. But when John Brown raids the Ferry, hell bent on starting a slave uprising, everything starts to fall apart.A creature, a dark shadow man, is stalking her.
As the Civil War rages towards Harpers Ferry, Adelaide is forced make a decision that could change everything: can she sacrifice a generation of men in order to save one?
The scourge is coming. And this time, she’s not sure she can stop it.

There’s not much else going on, other than lots and lots of writing and very little social interaction. This weekend I got Official Author Pictures taken. That was crazy and fun! I wore plaid. And stood in the mud. It was awesome!!
Stay tuned for more madness!
