Also: on a related note, I went to the Outer Banks last month and YES I WENT to Roanoke Island. Under the Devil’s Sun has a major, major connection to Roanoke and the Lost Colony. This is the reconstructed fort area, as the fort itself is long gone. In the 1950s, the park dug out the trenches around the fort location and rebuilt the dirt mounds.
The colony and its location, unfortunately, are still lost.
